How will you know where you want to go and what you looking for? Do you have set goals for your life? Do you know what sort of work you want in the long term? Writing down your goals will help you achieve amazing results in all areas of your life. Here are some practical ways to start thinking about goals today.
Begin to reflect and work on all your long term goals from today and soon you will know where you are going in your life. Next time you summon a cab, you will clearly know your destination. Look at your goals in terms of the benefits they will give you once achieved. Write down this benefit against each goal, and if ever you falter, this will help to keep you motivated.
We look forward to working with you.
Spend some quality time on your own and reflect on your goals in all areas of your life. Consider where you want to be in three months, one year and three years time. Once you have brainstormed all possible goals, categorise them. This list can then form the basis for your action plan.
Eliminate your doubts and fears about goal setting. Reduce any internal resistance, thereby increasing your desire to set goals and also boosting your confidence about achieving your goals.
Whatever it is you want, write down your goals. There is far more chance of materialising these goals once written down, even if you don’t do anything about it consciously.
Wherever you go, always carry a note book with you, with your goals written in it. Then even whilst you are out and about such as at a coffee shop, write down any ideas as they come to you. Follow up these ideas with purposeful action.
Create a to-do list on a daily basis. Ensure that your daily tasks are in line with your longer term goals.
Keep the end goal in mind. Do not give up because the goal doesn’t happen nor get into the mind set of thinking that you never achieve your goals or that goal setting doesn’t work.
Make your goals even more effective by wording them creatively. Bring them alive and make them inspirational in a way that can really galvanise you into action.
Ensure that your goals are SMART - Specific, Measurable, Attractive, Realistic and Time based.
Phrase your goals positively. State what you want, rather than what you don’t want. For example, rather than saying "i don't want to work here anymore", you could instead say “I want to be a Main Board Director of a FTSE 100 company”.
Make sure that your goals are congruent with your values and your life purpose.
